AnswersAll repliesI just installed windows 7 and noticed this adapter being the only hardware not automatically configured. Is there any luck to get this to work? it s working on 32 based system ..only ? thanks! Dear friend. Form: Yasir Iftikhar this worked perfectly for me on a Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit system. The system that I used it on was a Shuttle PC SN41G2 v3. The onboard ethernet card just wouldn’t seem to work even after installing the nvidia driver for it. So I tried using this driver for my 3Com card and it worked GREAT!! Thanks for the tip! Worked like a charm, thanks. —od46.com admin www.od46.com Man I haven’t seen a 3C905C-TX card in a LOOONG time. not since 2001. not surprised they still work though 😉 3Com was pretty good stuff back in the day. John Wildes | Senior Enterprise Architect | United Airlines | Desktop Engineering I could not find driver for 3Com EtherLink 10/100 PCI NIC(3C905-TX) . Please if you have any link then you are welcomed to share. For Win7 64bit you have to install manually a compatible driver within in the driver collection of Win7: Choose network-adapter >>> realtek semiconductor (the 2nd) >>> HP EN 1207D-Tx PCI 10/100 This driver is working well. That link appears to be dead, this one worked for me and got the Lan chip on my inspiron 8100 finally working ftp://ftp.uni-linz.ac.at/Driver/Ethernet/3COM/3c905c-1/3c905c_4_41.exe
This driver is working well. What does code10 mean? Is this a onboard chipset? or pci card? I just added a pci 10/100 ethernet card and rather then use the cd, I let windows do its thing and it came up with the realtek RTL8139/810x. I am using ultimate 64bit and the ethernet is working well so far, windows demoted Nvidia on board ethernet to the #2 spot.

I found some mirrors of the file (3c905c_4_41.exe) at: http://www.filewatcher.com/m/3c905c_4_41.exe.152076-0.html (at http://www.filewatcher.com/ ) Sorry I don’t seem to be qualified to post URL’s in a nice way (Microsoft is verifying my account since 2009 I believe). I think these will work fine for the (3C905C-TX-M) 3Com® EtherLink® 10/100 PCI NIC or 3Com 3C90x Fast EtherLink as HP — Compaq would call them. |
