Asus taichi 21 windows 10

Недавно у меня появилась необходимость в более компактном буке — в пару к имеющемуся 13.3-дюймовому Acer Aspire S7. Остановился на 11.6-дюймовых моделях. Выбирал между Acer S7, Sony Vaio Duo и Asus Taichi. Очень компактные размеры и маленький вес — все было в пользу S7, однако, так как у меня не «срослись» отношения с полноценными планшетами, а брать второй экземпляр одной модели не хотелось , решил приобрести трансформер — бук-планшет. Остановился на Asus Taichi 21.
Попытаюсь сравнить «Таичи» с Acer S7.
Клавиатура: Taichi «уделывает» S7 по полной: во-первых, подсветка — она имеет три уровня яркости и отлично работает при любом освещении (клавиши S7 «слепли» при работе сумерках). Во-вторых, раскладка — она привычная и удобная. И ход кнопок более мягкий.
Экран/экраны: Два экрана в Taichi — это действительно вещь! Хочешь — у тебя в руках бук, хочешь — планшет. Летающие/ездящие по миру граждане оценят. К тому же — внутренний экран у «Асуса» матовый и бликов на нём практически нет. И, несмотря на меньший размер экрана у Taichi, глаза при работе не устают. Однако у S7 экран ярче! И этих лишних нит порой очень не хватает на «Асусе».
Габариты: Тут S7 впереди — длину/ширину нет смысла сравнивать (всё ж у S7 13.3-дюймовый экран, а у Taichi — 11.6, хотя есть и версия с 13.3-дюймовым дисплеем), а вот толщина Acer почти в два раза меньше таковой у Asus.
Производительность: Мои машинки работают на одинаковых процессорах (i5), версиях «Винды» (Win8), оперативки и там, и там по 4 Гига, SSD на 128 Гигов. Разницы никакой не ощутил. Скорость загрузки буков примерно одинаковая.
Автономная работа: Тоже фифти-фифти.
Прочее: Taichi даже в простое греется до 70 градусов, а S7 — до 55-60, однако система охлаждения у последнего более шумная.
Вывод: Устройства разные, однако я доволен, что взял именно Taichi. Всё-таки возможность трансформации — большое дело.
Проблемы: Пока напрягают скачки температуры процессоров: нагрев в простое может быть на уровне 45-50, а может — 70-80, при равных условиях. При закрытой крышке, само собой, температура еще выше (так как крышка закрывает вентиляционные отверстия). В тех. поддержке «Асуса» заявили, что это особенность модели. Ну и BT иногда отваливается.

Возник у меня вопрос по стилусу.
Хотел приобрести себе стилус, в продаже нет.
Связался с поддержкой асус, говорят: если в комплекте не шел, значит ваш девайс его не поддерживает оОо.
Спрашиваю: почему? Ведь спецификация на ноут в целом одинаковая. В разных версиях отличны только процессор и объем диска.
Молчание.

Стилус от samsung NOTE II 10.1 не подходит.

okaton, у меня тоже стилуса не было. Хотя в чехле для него крепление есть 😆 Стилус от Note II тоже не подошел.

P.S Пока обхожусь без него.

P.P.S А как Вам вообще машинка? С температурой как дела обстоят?

Я тоже без него обходился, пока не понадобилось в самолете изменение в чертеже сделать 😀
Пальцом не удобно. Пришлось тачпад задействовать.

Машинка мне нравится, решение удачное.
Внешний экран яркий, сенсор озывчивый.

Если сравнивать несравниваемое AT21 и SGN2
Документы просматривать/редактировать намного комфортнее.
В некоторые игрушки играть не очень удобно.
АКБ держит около 3 часов, планшеты 8 часами избаловали 😀
Вес, чтобы держать тайчи свободно в руке на весу длительное время, необходимо активно посещать спортзал и возможно овладеть исскуством тайчи 😀

Нагрев, греется в основном верхняя часть, там где воздуховоды, при сильной нагрузке нагревается практически вся нижняя часть.
На офисных программах куллер подключается не сразу.
Запустил empire total war — тайчи превратился в печку, коленкам стало дискомфортно 😀
Заказал себе Taichi Suit Cover, говорят с ним комфортнее.

В качестве ноута, в смысле с открытой крышкой, практически не пользовался, но каких-либо косяков или дискомфорта не обнаружил.

TaiChi 21 (i7) Drivers hosed by Win10

I’m noticing there is very little support for the Asus TaiChi 21 Drivers. Sensors aren’t in the device manager at all and many drivers are either indicated by «?» or «!».

Windows update does not resolve the issue. The ASUS TaiChi VIP Support line stated, «We do not and WILL NOT support Windows 10. All drivers will have to come from Microsoft». What did MS do to tick off ASUS so badly? Does that mean those of us with Windows 10 enterprise licenses are completely hosed (as the EULA states that every workstation must have the same version of windows) from either using Windows 10 or Asus mobile devices?

The reason why Asus is not supporting Windows 10 for the Taichi is simply that Asus dropped development for the Taichi soon after it was on the market. For some reason the laptop was not a success and Asus is not investing in it anymore, just providing basic support to keep customers quiet.

This has been clear all along, highlighted by the terrible way in which Asus has been catching up with significant delay and unsatisfactory results to every Windows update that has screwed the dual-screen usability, over and over again.

I have been keeping my Taichi up-to-date meticulously and still I find myself with driver problems and recurring issues with the dual screen.

Very simply put, Asus has no intention of developing new drivers for the Taichi that are compatible with WIndows 10, because that would cost them money.

I have the same problem,

and the touch screen dosn’t work

I can’t use the tablet mode

the last time the problem was fixed with a upgrade of the bios

there is any chance that we can see this problem fixed soon?

Yes, I’ve the same problem. The touch screen is not working in the exact same mode it happened when I upgraded to Windows 8/Windows 8.1.

On top, most of the other components are suffering:

— Realtek sound system

If it’s true what Dedo79 says, it will be likely that I will have to downgrade to Windows 8.1 as most of the functionality is affected.

Hope Asus reconsiders the position at least for this major upgrade that MS is pushing hard everyone to move in.

In response to Dedo79, I also agree with him on having constant struggles with the drivers on every major update from MS: Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and now Windows 10, but I’m still happy with the machine overall once it’s running. It would be a pity to discard the Taichi just because of an unilateral Asus decision however I understand the costing issue.

I don’t know other users but I’m keen even to pay for a minimum fee to Asus but having them doing the upgrade to Windows 10. Probably if we have more Asus Taichi users adhering to this idea, we might have Asus reacting.

The only issue I now have with Windows 10 on my Asus Taichi21 UH71 is that the mirror screen is upside down. This feature is the only reason I invested in the Taichi 2.5 years ago. I use it for presentations, to customers, that I can manage from the laptop side.

I agree that Asus has been difficult to work with over that 2.5 years but I managed to get things done with them and my unit has worked perfectly until I upgraded to W10. It runs even better/faster on W10 except for the mirror screen being upside down. Any help/advise on this issue would be appreciated.

Hello Richard,

Please try to utilize the Go Back feature in windows 10 to revert back to previous OS. Here is a link that covers how to do that: http://www.howtogeek.com/220723/how-to-uninstall-windows-10-and-downgrade-to-windows-7-or-8.1/ and also gives you some other ideas for things to try. Now as far as any updated drivers, I do not see them coming in the future. This unit does not support windows 10, I apologize for that, but that means we will not be coming out with updates for windows 10 on this machine.

OK — I had the tablet screen issue. Here is my solution:

Make sure that the tablet screen button is turned on. tiny switch on left side of PC keyboard adjacent to the left-hand shift key. you should see a red dot if tab screen is turned on.

N.B. The following list of driver updates is valid as of 8/24. Future updates (IF ANY. ) will alter this list.

Go to ASUS support site and download the following and be certain that you are downloading the file with the highest rev number and latest creation date — both are on the menu screens.

Closelid_Win8_64_VER118 (this is an important one)

DPTF_Intel_Win7_8_VER118 (also important)

Power4GearHybrid_Win8_64_VER 308 (extremely important)

Unzip and run setup in each instance. reboot upon each request to reboot.

OK — here is the critical part.

Go to Power4Gear and establish settings for battery and wall power. That was the easy part.

Go to advanced settings and methodically choose each option and when it asks what function you wish to attach to closelid — select ‘do nothing’. Each other setting that has the word ‘lid’ in it should be set to ‘off’ or ‘do nothing’. I recommend confirming these settings after exiting Power4Gear by going to Windows Settings and go through each setting carefully. I recommend ditching sleep and hibernate. has caused issues for me.

N.B. Various upgrades and installations can change these sensitive lid settings. The foregoing method has worked for me and I have had stable results since March.

I strongly recommend that you also download and install TouchFreeze, a shareware program eliminates unexpected cursor movement while using PC keyboard. It locks out the touchpad when you are typing and restores function when keyboard activity ceases.

I keep a copy of the zip files on my SSD as they get used a bit more frequently during upgrades. Also check the Device Manager for yellow warning triangles. particularly with the ATK driver, the HID driver and occasionally the USB drivers.
