ERROR_MESSAGE_MAIN iOS download problem

A customer reported a problem with downloading XLS files from one of our servers.
The error messages was a bit cryptic and we knew these did not come from our backend.

It seems that ERROR_MESSAGE_MAIN and ERROR_MESSAGE_REASON are messages from iOS. As always I Googled to find any tips & tricks on how to solve it but without luck.

We could isolate the error down to XLSX files. In PHP we pulled the content type by the following code:

This gave us “application/vnd.ms-excel” which obviously did not work. But I was sure I’ve seen iOS handle XLS previews before. Something must be wrong with how the headers in our PHP download function worked.

After some trial and error I found out that iOS did not really know how to map “application/vnd.ms-excel” to the preview function. So I tried a couple of different content types and ended up with this: “application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet”.

Now I’ve added a exception for XLS files like this and it seems to work like a charm.

Question: Q: Error message in Terminal

The default interactive shell is now zsh.

To update your account to use zsh, please run `chsh -s /bin/zsh`.

Why am I getting this message? and how can I fix it without damaging my computer or main login profile?

You can change your login shell by going to Users & Groups, unlocking the pane, and control-clicking on your account — bringing up the Advanced Options window. You can select which shell to use there. Hope this helps.

The Zsh shell does not read your prior Bash dot files when you open a Terminal, so almost nothing is getting setup. Here is my

Apple lvl3 senior advisor has informed me that when someone upgrade to Catalina macOS. It’s best and highly recommend to convert from /bash/ to /zah/ because it’s better communicates with Catalina macOS. Anything later the Catalina, /bash/ is best for. The reason we’re seeing that message is because we upgrade the macOS from Yosemite to so on, so on. All new Macs being release with Catalina macOS installed will already be configured with /zsh/ cause /bash/ is being faded out or already has of course people that already upgraded.

Убедитесь, что адрес получателя не содержит лишних знаков препинания, пробелов или кавычек. Уточните адрес у получателя еще раз и повторите отправку письма.

Письмо кажется похожим на спам.

Если с вашего почтового ящика приходит только спам, почтовый сервер Яндекса заблокирует прием писем с него на 24 часа.

Почтовый ящик получателя переполнен. Чаще всего это происходит потому, что получатель редко пользуется ящиком и ящик заполняется рассылками.

Попробуйте связаться с получателем альтернативным способом связи и сообщить о проблеме. Чтобы получатель смог снова принимать письма в свой ящик, ему необходимо зайти в Яндекс.Почту через веб-интерфейс.

Слишком большой размер вложения. Вложение, которое вы отправляете в письме, не может быть принято почтовым сервером Яндекса из-за установленных на нем ограничений. Максимальный размер писем с вложениями, отправляемыми на почтовый ящик на Яндексе, не должен превышать 30 МБ.

Загрузите вложение на сервис хранения файлов (например, Яндекс.Диск) и укажите в письме ссылку на него.

Error: timeout exceeded

Почтовый сервер получателя не отвечает. Почтовый сервер слишком долго не отвечал на системные команды и почтовый сервер Яндекса прекратил попытку соединения и передачи письма.

Question: Q: Could not sign in to iMessage. An error occurred during activation. Try again.

MacOS Messages app has not worked for about a month now (after using it for many months/year+) and just gives this error message «Could not sign in to iMessage. An error occurred during activation. Try again.»

Trying again is useless.

So is deleting keychain passwords.

AppleID and password are valid and correct; verified at appleid website, also iMessages works fine on my iPhone.

I have a ton of messages and would like to archive them before doing anything drastic but see no option for that in Messages.

OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), 15″ 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram

If these are iMessages then they are «archived» as the app runs a database item called chat.db that holds the «history» of the iMessages conversations you have had.

There are several database items in here that are needed as a whole.

If the chats on show in the main Messages window are from AIM, Jabber or Yahoo connection then these will need to have been Saved at the time.

In Messages Menu > Preferences > General Section is the setting for Save on Close.

This will save the chat if you dismiss it from the Main window or when you quit the app.

With an open chat this may mean that different bits are saved in folders dated for different days.

Have you tried going to the Accounts section of the Preferences and using the Sign Out button ?

Once you have done this shut down the app (Quit).

On restarting the app re-add the Apple ID.

I’m having the same problem all of a sudden. Worked last night. now I’m dead on my MBPro. iMac is OK, iPhone is OK, iPad is OK. This is stupid.

Just to add to the confusion the Original Poster’s title and his Question did not really match.

They knew they needed to sort Messages but needed to save or store open conversations and chats first.

iMessages will have been stored.

Chat can be saved but need to be done at the time.

They never came back to suggest they had dealt with that issue.

I presume you are getting the same Error Message ?

To be clear you are not getting one of the 4 options in this Apple Doc ?

What have you tried to sort this issue out ?

I’m having the same issue on my MBPro and ONLY it. iPhone, Pad, iMac, MINI. all are fine and it just started with the MBPro yesterday. I did try logging in as GUEST and got the same error. I logged out and setup a new user. When I started as that user, I opened Message and entered the same ID I’m using everywhere else. I then got an error I’ve never seen before, something like «This computer is no longer allowed to setup a user on iCloud», or something like that. I tried logging into the account from a browser but the only option I saw was to Reset Documents & Data in the advanced tab. I did that and am now rebooting everything.

Other ideas? I did restore from a TimeMachine backup all of the files that made sense in preferences and others. Still no love. ideas?

In you regular Mac User Account > System Preferences > iCloud is it reporting that it is logged in ?

If you change a settings such as th Contacts app sync does it «take» ?
