Hint password windows 10

Windows 10.

Windows

Netplwiz.exe

Netplwiz.exe .

Please review the following:

If you are unable to log in, you are best off reinstalling Windows 10.

From another working computer:

What you should do, is first download the ISO file using Media Creation Tool, then use another tool such as Rufus to make a bootable copy. Here is how you do that:

Right click the MediaCreationTool.exe file then click Run as administrator.

Accept the End User License Agreement:

Select the option Create installation media for another PC if you want to download a ISO image or create a bootable DVD or USB thumb drive,

If you want to download a particular edition or both architectures, uncheck the Use the recommended option for this PC.
Image

Click in the Edition list box, choose your edition then click Next.

Windows 10 — contains Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro.
Windows 10 Home Single Language — only select this edition if you are running Windows 10 Single Language, Windows 8 Single Language or Windows 8.1 with Bing.
Windows 10 N — only select this edition if you reside in Europe, it does not contain Windows Media Player. It contains Windows 10 Home N, Windows 10 Pro N.

Downloading the ISO file

An ISO file is a digital or virtual replica of a physical disc. In order to use an ISO you must burn it to a optical disc. In the case of Windows 10, a blank Dual Layer DVD or an empty USB thumb drive. If you are using Windows 7, you can create the .ISO then burn it using the built in Disc Image utility. If you are running Windows XP or Windows Vista, you can using a third party burning tool such as ImgBurn or Roxio/Nero.

Exception: you can double click the ISO (or right click it, choose Open with > Fiel Explorer), mount it and start the upgrade in Windows 10.

Creating a .ISO file

For the purposes of this exercise, we are gonna use the .ISO option.

Select ISO file, then click Save, Select your location then click Save.

Wait while the .ISO image is created.

MAKING A BOOTABLE COPY USING RUFUS:

You can download Rufus, for free.
http://rufus.akeo.ie/

After downloading Rufus, connect your thumb drive, launch Rufus application, click in the Device list box then choose your thumb drive.

Click in the list box then choose your partition scheme. If you select the ISO, Rufus will automatically select the appropriate options for you. Next, click in the File system list box, then choose FAT32. If your thumb drive is larger than 32 GBs, choose exFAT.

Leave the default Cluster size then enter a label for your thumb drive.

Click the choose disk image icon, browse to where the ISO file is located, select it then click Open.

Click Start to copy the files to the thumb drive.

If you have any files on the thumb drive, they will be deleted.

Wait while the files are copied to your thumb drive.

Close when complete

Open File Explorer, then launch setup to begin the installation.

STILL NOT ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THE ISO FILE?

Choose the following:

— Windows Final
— Windows 10, version 1803
— Windows 10 Pro + Home
— English
— x64 (64 bit) x32 (32 bit)

Review the following guide for instructions and details about configuring your BIOS or UEFI boot settings for DVD, CD, USB or SD Card.

BIOS/UEFI Setup Guide: Boot from a CD, DVD, USB Drive or SD Card
https://www.groovypost.com/howto/bios-uefi-setu.

Once your computer is set to boot from the DVD or USB, you should see this option.

The Windows logo will appear on screen, this might be here for a while, as long as you see the indicater, everything should be ok.

Select your Language, Time and Keyboard method then click Next.

Wait while Setup starts.

Accept the license terms and click Next

Select the Primary Partition then click Next

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you selected might contain files from a previous Windows Installation. If it does, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

Wait while Windows installs

When this phase of setup is complete, Windows will automatically restart and reboot into setup again.

Windows is detecting and installing your hardware. After this is complete, Windows will restart one last time.

Out of Box Experience

The Out of Box Experience page is where you get to configure detailed settings in Windows, which includes creating a user account, privacy, sync PC settings and install modern applications.

Windows will check if there is an active Internet connection. If it does not find one, you will be presented with the following screen.

Create a Local Account and click Next

Wait while Windows finalizes your settings

Continue to wait while Windows installs modern applications.

When setup is complete you can retrieve any personal files from the Windows.old

Browse to C:\ Local Disk and open the Windows.old folder

It’s possibly buggy or the User account so corrupted it won’t work no matter what. We see a lot of account corruption in Windows 10 we never saw in Windows 7.

It’s a PITA and I’m sorry you’re going through it, but I’ll give you everything possible to do so that at least something will work:

First see the various troubleshooting steps here:

Next try enabling the Hidden Administrator account to log into and set up a new Local Administrative Account to sign-into, move files over and set up, using whatever method given here that works: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2969-enable.

To do this you’ll need to access a Command Prompt in repair mode by one of these methods: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanc. . If you don’t have the password this may be limited to using the booted media.

If necessary you can create Windows 10 Installation Media on another PC: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.

Insert media, boot it by powering up PC while pressing the BIOS Boot Menu Key: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutor.

Choose the boot device as a UEFI device if offered. If the media won’t boot you may need to enter BIOS/UEFI Setup (pressing key given in chart in link above) to turn off Fast Boot or Fast Startup first.

After it loads, on second screen, choose Repair Your Computer, then Advanced Troubleshoot Options for Command Prompt.

If this fails from the Troubleshoot Options try a Reset, saving files.

If this fails choose Install Now, then Custom Install, then at drive selection screen delete all partitions down to Unallocated Space to get it cleanest, click Next to let it create needed partitions and start install — this makes it foolproof. Follow the illustrated Clean Install steps in this tutorial which compiles the best possible install that will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki.

There is a step included to rescue your files first if they are not backed up using the bootable media here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki.

I hope having the full range of options helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it’s resolved.

Windows 10 Login Password Hint fails to appear

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

We understand your concern in this regard.

Is it a Microsoft account or Local account?

I guess you might be seeing this for a Microsoft account. Usually, password hint won’t appear for Microsoft account, instead it will warn you to reset the password. If you’re using a Local account and if you have set a password hint, then it will show you the password hint, when you mistype the password.

Hope this will address your query.

Thanks for your quick response Yashwanth. I double checked my user settings. Actually, all of our user accounts on this laptop are «Local Accounts.» As I look at the Settings page, I see there is a notification that advises «Windows is better when your settings and files automatically sync. Use a Microsoft account to easily get all your stuff on all your devices.» Followed by a hyperlink that says «Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.» So I’m definitely on Local. (At the risk of providing too much info, I’ve got each of us set up on «Local» since I wanted to preserve the Admin functionality as a stand-alone user account that is not used day-to-day. With a stand-alone Admin, there’s one more user account than Microsoft accounts.)

I really would like to have the «hint» functionality operable if at all possible, so I’d appreciate any further advice you or anyone else may have. Thanks!
