Distribution not supported error when trying to install Intel Graphics Installer on Ubuntu 14.04
My processor is Intel core i3 inside x64 bit and RAM is 4 gb. When I used Windows 7 Intel was successfully installing, but now I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and Intel Installer makes me crazy. I’ve tried to change lsb-release, but is doesn’t help me. I tried to reinstall signature and Intel Installer, but everything is the same!
I heard this problem was on Ubuntu 14.10, but not on Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS. If someone knows why I have this error please help me.

You can try using the older driver, but I have no way of verifying that it will work. Depending on your needs, download the 32bit or 64bit or you can download the file from source: for 32bit or 64bit and then follow the commands below:
And then just start the installer
I would recommend you install the file(s) using Gdebi. To install:

раз запускается значит ничто не мешает сделать ярлык на рабочий стол,
это не проблема а приятные хлопоты.

сохраняю файлик и закрываю.
В терминале проверяю
cat /etc/lsb-release
, выдаёт то, что вставил в блокнотик
ругается, что дистрибутив не поддерживается, хотя пробовал на Ubuntu 14.04 LTS — драйвера вставили на ура.
После перезагрузки компьютера также ругается на версию, а в файлике в блокнотике всё возвращается на Минт:

Доброго времени суток! Скачал с официального сайта Intel «Intel Linux Graphics Installer», у меня Linux Mint 17.2 за неимением выбора скачал версию для Ubuntu* 15.10. Но при запуске и попытке поиска драйверов он выдает: «Checking distribution. Failed»

“Distribution not supported” during installation of Intel drivers
Trying to install Intel drivers on my Elementary OS system based on Ubuntu 14.04, using the 1.0.7 64 bit installer, it comes up with an error saying this Distribution is not supported, after a quick google search I found this: http://cocari.me/how-to-install-intel-graphics-installer-on-elementary-freya/. And some other posts saying how to get around this, after doing as the guide said I launched the Intel installer, but it still came up with the same error. I tried to do cat /etc/lsb-release. To see if it was indeed edited to what it had to be, and it was. So I’m kind of on bare ground now, as I don’t know what the error is.

It is what it says, it is not supported. Now this installer supports only Ubuntu 14.10. And generally speaking there is no need to install this driver at all. You can upgrade your graphical stack by running:
This will install HWE stack from 14.10.
In the proposed repository there is already HWE for vivid too. It will be in main soon.

I get this message when I try this new Intel feature from the control center.
What is wrong?
Can I call it from the commandline and would this help?

I found a link for a turnaround for Mint.
I feel this is very much at own risk to use but for me it worked, although I don’t see differences in the behaviour of my grafic card on my screen.
When I used the driver manager, it seamed freezing a couple of times but it didn’t.
