Arc — это тема оформления для GTK3, GTK2 и Gnome Shell. Ее можно использовать в различных рабочих окружениях — GNOME, Budgie, Pantheon, XFCE, MATE и других.

Тема оформления красивая и смотрится легко. Состоит из трех тем — светлой, темной и светлой темы с темными заголовками окон.

Состав тем Arc

Arc состоит из трех частей:

Установка темы оформления Arc

Тема Arc представлена во многих дистрибутивах Linux.

Название пакета: arc-theme. Пакет содержит все три темы Arc (arc, arc-dark, arc-darker).

Для установки темы Arc в Ubuntu Linux выполните в терминале команду:

Совместно с темой оформления Arc можно установить и одноименную тему иконок. В ней представлены иконки только для некоторых базовых приложений, файлов и директорий.

Тема иконок не представлена в репозиториях, и ее нужно устанавливать самостоятельно. Для установки выполните в терминале следующие команды:

Изменяем тему в Ubuntu Linux

После того, как вы установили новую тему, ее нужно применить. В Ubuntu Linux для этого можно воспользоваться утилитой Gnome Tweak Tool.

Если у вас данная утилита не установлена, то выполните следующую команду, чтобы ее установить:

Затем запустите утилиту из лаунчера или из командной строки, выполнив:

Перейдите на вкладку Внешний вид и выберите в разделе Темы тему «Arc» для Приложений и Значков .

Тема должна сразу поменяться, без необходимости перезагрузки.

Установка темы Arc для браузера Firefox

Для браузера Firefox существует три темы Arc:

• Arc (светлая тема)
• Arc Dark (темная тема)
• Arc Darker (темный заголовок и вкладки)

Темы нужно устанавливать по отдельности прямо из Firefox, также, как выполняется установка дополнений для браузера. Выберите в меню Firefox пункт Дополнения или нажмите сочетание клавиш Ctrl+Shift+A .

Введите в поиске «arc». Будут найдены три темы. Выберите интересующую вас тему и нажмите кнопку Установить тему

Темы можно переключать без перезапуска браузера.

Тема Arc для браузера Firefox (светлая тема).
Тема Arc Dark для браузера Firefox ( темная тема).
Тема Arc Darker для браузера Firefox (светлая тема с темным заголовком).

Arc Theme Colora Collection

Since the arc theme is constantly in evolution and the same goes for Cinnamon and Linux Mint, I made this github to make a division between cinnamon versions.

You can find your personal cinnamon version when you type the following code in the terminal

#What can you do if the script does not execute?

Since I sometimes forget to make the script executable, I include here what you can do to solve that.

A script can only run when it is marked as an executable.

Above code will reveal if a script has an «x». X meaning executable. Google «chmod» and «execute» and you will find more info.

For now if this happens, you should apply this code in the terminal and add the file name.

Arc is a flat theme with transparent elements for GTK 3, GTK 2 and GNOME Shell which supports GTK 3 and GTK 2 based desktop environments like GNOME, Unity, Budgie, Pantheon, Xfce, MATE, etc.

Arc is available in three variants

elementary OS Note: elementary OS Freya users can install the package for Ubuntu 15.04, Loki users can install the package for Ubuntu 16.04.

AUR Note: If you’re having trouble with the AUR packages please email the package maintainer at zach@zach-adams.com before creating an issue.

To build the theme the follwing packages are required

• autoconf
• automake
• pkg-config or pkgconfig for Fedora
• libgtk-3-dev for Debian based distros or gtk3-devel for RPM based distros
• git to clone the source directory

Note: For distributions which don’t ship separate development packages, just the GTK 3 package is needed instead of the -dev packages.

For the theme to function properly, install the following

• GNOME Shell 3.14 — 3.24, GTK 3.14 — 3.22
• The gnome-themes-standard package
• The murrine engine. This has different names depending on the distro.
  • gtk-engine-murrine (Arch Linux)
  • gtk2-engines-murrine (Debian, Ubuntu, elementary OS)
  • gtk-murrine-engine (Fedora)
  • gtk2-engine-murrine (openSUSE)
  • gtk-engines-murrine (Gentoo)

After the installation is complete the theme can be activated with gnome-tweak-tool or a similar program by selecting Arc , Arc-Darker or Arc-Dark as Window/GTK+ theme and Arc or Arc-Dark as GNOME Shell/Cinnamon theme.

If the —disable-transparency option was used, the theme will be installed as Arc-solid , Arc-Darker-solid and Arc-Dark-solid .

To install the Chrome/Chromium theme go to the extra/Chrome folder and drag and drop the arc-theme.crx or arc-dark-theme.crx file into the Chrome/Chromium window. The source of the Chrome themes is located in the source «Chrome/arc-theme» folder.

To install the Plank theme, copy the extra/Arc-Plank folder to

/.local/share/plank/themes or to /usr/share/plank/themes for system-wide use. Now open the Plank preferences window by executing plank —preferences from a terminal and select Arc-Plank as the theme.

Arc-Dark for Ubuntu Software Center

The Arc Dark theme for the Ubuntu Software Center by mervick can be installed from here. It solves readability issues with Arc Dark and the Ubuntu Software Center.

If you use Ubuntu with a newer GTK/GNOME version than the one included by default (i.e Ubuntu 14.04 with GTK 3.14 or Ubuntu 15.04 with GTK 3.16, etc.) the prebuilt packages won’t work properly and the theme has to be installed manually as described above. This is also true for other distros with a different GTK/GNOME version than the one included by default
