иногда выскакивает экран с низким разрешением. вот один из таких случаев, нажал потом в консоли контрал+с. результат выше.

если у тебя система x86_64 то для wine ещё нужны 32-битные библиотеки драйверов видюхи. ищи в AUR с префиксом lib32 твои драйвера.. кажется lib32-nvidia-utils. Но если у тебя что-то 3д-шное уже работает нормально под вайном, то видимо стоят.
ADDED:
и кстати, лучше DirectX поставить вот так: winetricks d3dx9
К тому же wine-gecko лучше установить, чтобы не было проблем с играми со встроенной привязкой к IE.

C&C: Red Alert 2 Yuri’s Revenge
This is the snap for C&C: Red Alert 2 Yuri’s Revenge. It works on Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, and other major Linux distributions.

- This snap does not have game files.
- Game updater is broken in wine though when launcher closes after update download to install it, click ok to error then run the game as usuall it will be updated because I’ve added workaround this issue now updates will be copied over when Updater dir exists.
- Select Renderer Automatic from launcher options that is needed in WINE for smooth gameplay.
- Auto restart of client is broken when user saves settings so don’t click yes to restart do manually exit then start game again.
- Loading savegames is broken and it is causing wineserver ptrace to crash game under snap strict confinement (cncnet exception).
- Copy game files to $HOME/snap/cncra2yr/common/.wine/drive_c/Westwood/RA2 when snap ask to install game and it also ask user to allow it to open above game install dir.

Ubuntu Documentation
You can run the game Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 on Ubuntu by using Wine. Unfortunately, the game’s installer does not run in Wine, although there are several procedures that you can follow to get the game itself working. The procedure detailed in this article requires the use of a working Windows installation, although it does not have to be on the same computer as your Ubuntu installation.
Also, the game has a copy-protection system which causes problems when trying to run the software through Wine. Unfortunately, we must resort to using a crack to make the game playable. See the Legal Issues section for more information.
Procedure
This procedure has been tested on an i386 computer running Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron), with wine 0.9.59-0ubuntu4. The Windows computer was running Windows XP SP2.
Install Red Alert 2 normally, on a Windows computer, using your game CD. Make sure that you install the Westwood Shared Internet Components, as these provide the auto-updater.
Update the game to version 1.006. If the auto-updater fails, you can download a standalone patch, which you should scan with your Windows anti-virus software before running.
Download the groza no-CD crack and scan it with your anti-virus software. You may need to use WinRAR to extract the files from the downloaded archive.
Follow the instructions in the .nfo file which should have been extracted from the file you downloaded. It is important to copy the .mix files listed from both the Allied and Soviet discs to the game directory (normally C:\Westwood\RA2). Three of the .mix files are the same, so it does not matter which disc you take them from.
Still on Windows, try to play the game without a CD in the drive. If it does not work, you cannot continue.
Copy the game directory (normally C:\Westwood\RA2) to a removable drive or similar, so that it can be copied onto your Ubuntu installation. With all of the .mix files, the game directory should be around 1GB in size.
Copy the game directory to your Ubuntu computer.
Install the wine package.
Open a Terminal (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and type the following to run the game:
(Make sure that you replace /path/to/ with the path to the directory that you saved the Westwood folder in.

Legal Issues
This section does not constitute legal advice, and is only intended to inform you of potential legal issues.
It is unfortunate that a no-CD crack must be used to get the game working, but it seems that few people have been successful in running the game through alternative methods. If you do choose to follow these instructions, please do not abuse the use of the no-CD crack. That is;
- Only copy the cracked game directory to one computer. Do not ‘lend’ it or sell it to anyone else.
- Make sure that you own at least one genuine Red Alert 2 CD while you are using the cracked game directory, ‘as if’ you were playing the game from CD as intended.
Even by taking these steps you are on legally dubious ground, since circumventing copy protection in this way is illegal in some countries. If you are in any doubt of the law in your country, do not use these instructions.
Problems
After completing a «skirmish» game, you may find that the button on the game summary screen doesn’t work. In order to work around this, run Red Alert in a Terminal and, when you reach that screen, click the button and then press Alt + Tab a few times to update the screen.

Вы еще помните прекрасную реалтайм-стратегию Red Alert? Лично я в нее рубился с упоением, правда было это довольно давно. Правда темерь у меня маленький сын и нас интересуют больше детские игрушки, типа тех что есть на www.playmobil-online.ru. Тем не менее производители Red Alert наконец-то решили освободить свое творение. Сегодня увидела свет первая тестовая сборка открытого движка игры Red Alert. Называется этот продукт OpenRA.
Для молодежи и подростков напомню, что Command & Conquer: Red Alert это стратегия в реальном времени, предложенная геймерам компанией Westwood Studios еще в далеком 1996 году. Бойная происходит на просторах альтернативной истории и вам предлагается защитить бедненькую Европу от злобного Советского Союза.
Я так понял, что главная цель разработчиков проект OpenRA поднять из могилы игру, которая в когда-то время была страшно популярной и даже вошла в книгу Рекордов Гинесса, как самая продаваемая RTS в мире. Кроме того проект OpenRA стремится создать открытый движок для стратегических игр в целом. Желание более чем похвальное. При этом возрождаются производные моды и игры от движка. В частности Command & Conquer уже поддерживается. Более того, уже можно погонять многопользовательскую сетевую игру на картах с Red Alert и Command & Conquer.
Но учтите, что OpenRA написана на Mono, но это позволяет движку запускться на Widnows, Mac и Linux. Но пока еще не закончены 64-битные сборки.
Кроме того еще учтите, что для установки игры и ее нормальной работы потребуется удовлетворить следующее зависимости:

Потом вам нужно будет скачать оригинальную игру (бесплатно) с официального сайта, распаковать файлы с расширением .MIX кроме SETUP.MIX и скопировать их в usr/share/ra/mods/ra для Red Alert, и sr/share/ra/mods/cnc для Command & Conquer.
Для полноценной игры потребуются все MIX-файлы модов:
