Hi, I’m trying to hack an Asus K52Jc. The major specs are the following (the rest is not useful, but anyways, here: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/K52JC/specifications/ the full specifications):
Intel® HM55 Express Chipset
CPU i5 430M 2,53 Ghz
GPU Nvidia GeForce 310M
Atheros 9285 network chip
I can successfully install, boot and use Mavericks, but I cannot even reach the Yosemite installer (of course I’m using the Unibeast method). Also, even on Mavericks, I can’t connect to the Internet (I tried to use the patched Atheros40 plugin) nor set the correct screen resolution (in my experience GeForce cards always worked out of the box).
I hope someone can help me, or maybe has a similar laptop.

You will need to at least use GraphicsEnabler=Yes to activate the nvidia. Perhaps you’ll need DSDT patches as well. I have no nvidia hardware, so no details for you.
In later versions of Mavericks and Yosemite, you also must use a correct SMBIOS (one that has Nvidia). See everymac.com for selection of SMBIOS.
As for AR9285 it can be activated with simple injector kext or «compatible» injection. See here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/104850-guide-airport-pcie-half-mini-v2.html

I’d suggest these flags for reaching the installer:
dart=0 cpus=1 nv_disable=1 -x IGPEnabler=No GraphicsEnabler=No
That will disable nvidia graphics (for you to figure out post-install) and avoid any problem you might have with Local APIC panic or VT-d.
Also note your profile does not reflect accurately the hardware you’re working on.

Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution
For example, typical Ivy laptop:

Graphics: HD4000, 1366×768
Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Ok guys i have been trying to get a x86 mac os to run in some years now, allways with no sucess, going by incompatible motherboards to processors, and also IDE drives so now i just got a new Laptop and i want to see if this time i can achive this goal.
Intel® Core™ i3 Processor 370M: 2.4 GHz
Chipset: Mobile Intel® HM55 Express Chipset
Video Graphics & Memory: NVIDIA® GeForce® 310M, 1GB DDR3 VRAM
So my question is: Can i get mac osx to run on this computer? And if so tell me a guide that i can follow,
BTW: if it works i will want to make a triple boot: Windows 7, Macosx and Ubuntu

I have installed OSX 10.6.0 on the same machine but it has an i5 processor. What you might need to do is go into the BIOS and change the graphics adaptor to reserved, essentually disabling the Nvidia option. That is assuming of course that your machine has an intergrated Intel HD graphics as well. I used the iBoot method with a retail version of OSX. Installation failed without using «-x» at the chameleon boot screen.
On the 10.6.0 installation, «about this Mac» doesn’t identify the processor, sleep doesn’t work and there is no network but I think they will be short term obstacles. I will try an update to 10.6.6, see what happens and let you know.

Hey Im writing a reply forthe Asus K52j laptop installation of os x software.
Well how war did i got to? I have an installed Snow leopard OS x with 10.6.7 update. My sound works, my wireless works. Still didnt managed to get a working trackpad and sleep function. My graphics are still not working, but we are waiting for a solution.
I am able to have the mac in a small resolution, and everything works. Except after a while it feels bad, with bad graphics, so you come back to your windows installation.
What I did (for everyone who will be searching for info further like me):
I installed using Iboot disc, and . (when using Iboot boot CD a lot of booting installation errors disappear).
I run the installation with , or the purchased Mac OS CD.
Then i start installing the Combo Update (by the guide)
To avoid a KP, you either have to monitor the folder System\Library\Extensions
and you need to delete the kexts that appear in the end of the installation:
Usually if you do not succeed, you have to boot in to darwin boot (-s flag) and to delet the kexts manually with this command:
mount -uw /
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/****.kext
After the kexts are deleted, every reboot should work fine.
And to avoid any other panics, you should first update, and then run MultiBeast.
After running Multibeast, I still have to install an adjustet Atheros kext, so that my wireless card would work. I think you can find the kext in kexts.com, anyway you can ask me in pm.
Sound works as well when i delete the AppleHDA.kext and i leave tha VoodooHDA.kext.
The main problem im now waiting a solution for is graphics. The ideal thing would be if I could turn off my IntelHD graphics card and use the Nvidia only. Or we have to wait for any news if theres a kext released to fix this Nvidia Optimus issue.

Поставил ради теста на свой старичек ноут винду 10, стала все хорошо, без глюков и нареканий но есть в диспетчере задач некоторые как пишет системные устройства на которые она не смогла найти драйвера. Вот проблема как понять что это за устройства не могу и найти драйвера на них не могу.
Так же интересует вопрос возможно ли поменять процессор на более мощный в этом ноуте и добавить оперативки?
Предлагают продажу. Дешево, судя по показателям, только с картой AMD Radion/ Сколько стоит сейчас реально?

тоже была проблема с подсветкой (K52Je, видео HD5470) — после установки дров и перезагрузки её просто не было. Вроде решил проблему удаление MS-совских дров, отключением загрузки из центра обновлений и установкой родных древних с сайта асус (режим совместимости вин7). Второй день, полет нормальный.

Сам попал сюда, потому что периодические зависания на вин10 32bit. память прогнал мемтестом, всё ок, жесткий ок. температура цпу40°, гпу50°. не пойму в чем дело.
Еще мать по характеристикам не поддерживает ddr1333, а у меня одна плашка 1333, другая 1066.
мож кто-что подскажет?
