Sierra Installation on Dell Inspiron 15 5558
NaveenPunnana
I have create a new sierra bootable usb device from my friends MacBook Air. I have followed the tonymacx86 BIOS guide to set the configuration for installation. I have chosen the USB bootable that i have created from the boot menu and the apple logo appeared with the status bar. After some time, the system is showing the below screen shots repeatedly. And it never stopped. I have tried couple of things after searching but no use. I have tried to login to safe mode but no use. The clover is not switching to safe mode. Attaching the screenshots with this post.

This is Desktop Support section. Right section for your query is Sierra Laptop Support.
Your discrete graphics is not usable on OS X. You have to disable it in BIOS or in DSDT/SSDT. For installation you can use «nv_disable=1» flag.
Make sure that you had copied VoodooPS2Controller.kext to your USB’s /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other folder. This is required for supporting your keyboard and trackpad.

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.
Pay attention the Broadwell info in the FAQ. It is important.

Although you should read the FAQ for an overview of issues, the Clover guide is linked from the first question: «Q. Where do I start?«, just after the bold face «Clover Guide«.
Here is a direct link, just to be clear:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/
Also, your profile must be filled out with complete details as requested in the FAQ, again under «Q. Where do I start?«. All seven details requested are equally important.

Here is my whole clover partition.
I did exactly what you advised in that Post, that i already mentioned.
«For Clover UEFI, run the Clover Installer package:
— select the target of the install to «CLOVER EFI» using «Change Install Location»
— select «Customize» (the default is a legacy install — we need to change it)
— check «Install for UEFI booting only», «Install Clover in the ESP» will automatically select
— check «Bluemac» from Themes (the config.plist files I provide use this theme)
— check «OsxAptioFixDrv-64» from Drivers64UEFI
[. ]
Finally, we need one EFI driver not included in the Clover installer, HFSPlus.efi:
— it can be downloaded from here: https://github.com/JrCs/CloverGrower. 64/HFSPlus.efi.
— copy it to /EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI
Preparing essential kexts[. ]»
PS:Somehow I could not upload this zipped folder here, so I uploaded to my OneDrive. It is my whole «Clover EFI» partition.

Clover/kexts/Other is wrong. Only kexts go there. HwMonitor.app. not a kext. org.rehabman.voodoo.driver.Daemon.plist. not a kext. VoodooPS2Daemon. not a kext.
Also, you should not include the FakeSMC sensors with Broadwell. Include only FakeSMC.kext itself.
Both issues are well covered in the guide you claim to have followed.
Note: With Broadwell, you also need to set DVMT-prealloc to 64MB or larger (BIOS setting). This is covered in the links provided in the FAQ: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-. faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html
benicsbalazs
I’ve set the DVMT pre-allocated memory to 96MB.
I downloaded a DSDT Editor to extract my laptop’s dsdt, to inject the «AAPL, ig-platform-id» as the guide says (guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-. hd-graphics-5500-os-x-yosemite-10-10-3-a.html)
The DSDT Editor is from http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/223205-dsdt-editor-and-patcher/ (Windows/java version)
I could not compile the fresh exported dsdt, becouse I had errors, that could not fixed automatically.
So it’s not clear to me how to get my own DSDT, to inject the AAPL stuff. And how shall I inject it exactly.
Instruction from the guide:
«Open your DSDT, find Device (GFX0) or Device (IGPU) or Name (_ADR, 0x00020000) and add the Device-Specific Method.»
I only found like this:
[. ]
Scope (\_SB.PCI0)
<
Device (B0D3)
<
Name (_ADR, 0x00030000)
>
Device (GFX0)
<
Name (_ADR, 0x00020000)
>
Device (B0D4)
<
Name (_ADR, 0x00040000)
>
>
[. ]
So the «add the Device-Specific Method» means that I have to insert the modification under the «Name (_ADR, 0x00020000)» line?
To help you, I copied the DSDT Editor’s text content from that window.
