I have a computer that was brought to me by one of my customers and they have an invalid product key. I am out of stock on the 32 bit versions and trying to save them a few days waiting for shipping on a physical disk.

Is there a place to buy Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (x86) 32 bit online that is legal?
I have a computer that was brought to me by one of my customers and they have an invalid product key. I am out of stock on the 32 bit versions and trying to save them a few days waiting for shipping on a physical disk.
Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this has created demand because of its scarcity. This means retail boxed copies demand a premium, while OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.
Full version (Retail):
— Includes transfer rights to another computer.
— Doesn’t require a previous qualifying version of Windows.
Upgrade version (Retail):
— Includes transfer rights to another computer.
— require a previous qualifying version of Windows.
— Expensive, but cheaper than full version
OEM System Builder version:
OEM versions of Windows 7 are identical to Full License Retail versions except for the following:
— OEM versions do not offer any free Microsoft direct support from Microsoft support personnel
— OEM licenses are tied to the very first computer you install and activate it on
— OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard
— OEM versions cannot be used to directly upgrade from an older Windows operating system
There is nothing wrong with using it too, especially since all future releases of Windows will be full versions anyway.

Are the 64 bit and 32 bit product keys any different?
No, product keys are not architecture specific (32 or 64 bit), as long as they are the same version/edition, it will work with either architecture.
I have 64 bit versions in stock, can I sell them that but use the 32 bit version (their computer doesn’t have enough ram for 64 bit)?
No, you cannot do that, if both came together you have to either sell both or keep both.
From the Windows End User License Agreement:
18. TRANSFER TO A THIRD PARTY.
a. Software Other Than Windows Anytime Upgrade. The first user of the software may make a one time transfer of the software and this agreement, by transferring the original media, the certificate of authenticity, the product key and the proof of purchase directly to a third party. The first user must remove the software before transferring it separately from the computer. The first user may not retain any copies of the software.

So if I use a 64 bit DVD — That they purchase, and use THAT code on a 32 bit version (BOTH SAME VERSION but different architecture) you are saying I can’t do that? It’s not a box that came with both, it’s a 64 bit version, but using a Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit installation disk that I have. I’m not talking about keeping one disk.
Also, does Windows 8 — Pro Upgrade have downgrade rights to Windows 7? If so, How (SPECIFICALLY) do I activate it?
Also, you didn’t answer the question about how to buy a product key online. I need the key today and can’t wait for shipping, nothing local.

Retail versions do not have downgrade rights.
Consumer versions of Windows 8 Pro that come preinstalled on PCs have downgrade rights to a previous version of Windows (example: Windows 7, Windows Vista).
If your copy came pre-installed on your system, you may downgrade your copy to Windows 7.
If not you need purchase a copy of Windows 7 and install the same on your computer.
• Downgrade rights are only available for licenses obtained through OEM or Volume Licensing (VL) and not apply to Full version (FPP).
• OEM downgrade rights apply to Windows 8 Pro and allows for downgrades up to two prior version
• Software Assurance through VL (Volume licensing) provides the greatest flexibility, allowing for downgrades to all prior versions and editions besides Windows 7 Ultimate and Vista Ultimate editions.Without Software Assurance coverage, VL has downgrade rights to prior versions of Windows with the exception of Enterprise.
• It is not possible for a Windows 8 copy with multi-language function to downgrade to Windows 7 Pro or Windows XP Pro as multi language function is exclusive to Windows 7 Enterprise edition and not available for Professional edition.

There are no product keys available online «legitimately» for purchase.
