Installing Mission Planner (Windows)В¶

The below instructions show how to install Mission Planner on Windows. These instructions will be suitable for most users. For advanced users and non-standard installations, instructions are found here: . A useful video guide for advanced installation of Mission Planner is located here.

Double click on the downloaded .msi file to run the installer

Follow the instructions to complete the setup process. The installation utility will automatically install any necessary software drivers. If you receive a DirectX installation error, please update your DirectX plug-in from the Windows Download Center.

If you receive the warning pictured below, select Install this driver software anyway to continue.

Mission Planner is normally installed in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Mission Planner folder.

An icon to open the Mission Planner is created according to your instructions during the installation.

Open Mission PlannerВ¶

Once installation is complete, open Mission Planner by clicking on its system icon.

Then you can either:

If ArduPilot firmware is not already installed on the autopilot, see Loading Firmware to boards without existing ArduPilot firmware .

Updating Mission PlannerВ¶

Mission Planner automatically notifies you about available updates (when it is connected to the Internet).

Please always run the most current version of Mission Planner.

Mission Planner using windows XP / Not showing flight modes #958

I have seen this issue all over the net, but no evidence of cures.

I have been Using versions of MP up until 2014 with great success along with my APM2.0 board.
I updated MP to the latest version, and loaded the latest possible firmware. Now, using my Turnigy 9x radio, on the MP Modes screen , I switch the radio to all my usual modes but MP does not show any modes, just blank tabs. Plus near the top of MP states «unknown». I have tried to load previous firmwares and MP versions, but it makes no difference. I just received a AMP2.6 clone, and it acts exactly the same with MP. I am not using an OSD with the AMP so I don’t know if the modes are showing there either.

Same probleme here with win XP for past week.
I have deinstall the MP and then I have use CCleaner tool for clean the Windows Registry
Then the new last MP installation works now ok here.

When I started MP thismorning, a new update automatically installed. This has indeed cured it. Thankyou !
