* During installation you will be prompted to open «System Preferences», please select «Allow» then «OK» (instead of «Restart») and back to the installer.

Note: If you have installed PdaNet before or if you have just upgraded Mac OS, please open Terminal (under Applications->Utilities) and run

/PdaNetUninstall.sh then reboot first.

The current version supports Mac OS X 10.5 or above, both 32 bit and 64 bit. It does not work on older hardwares like the PowerBook or iMac. Here are the setup instructions:

1. Download and run the installer on Mac. At the end of the installation you will be asked to reboot your Mac. After rebooting you should see the PdaNet icon on the menu bar. (figure 1)

2. During installation PdaNet will add an ethernet interface («en2» in most cases) to your network list. If the network preferences window pops up, just selected «Apply» with the default DHCP settings. If it doesn’t, please bring up network perferences manually to make sure it uses DHCP. (figure 2)

3. On your phone go to Settings->Applications->Development and check «USB Debugging» (figure 3).

4. Now you need to add PdaNet to your phone side. On the Mac click on the PdaNet menu bar icon and select «Install PdaNet to Phone» then wait for it to complete. After this launch PdaNet on the phone and enable USB Tether.

5. Now when you connect your phone to the computer, you should see the menu icon changes state, click on it to connect. When the icon stops blicking and turns blue, your computer should be online.

6. If the PdaNet menu bar icon does not stop blicking when you connect PdaNet, you will need to manully add the new network interface: open Network Preference on Mac and select «+», then add the «en» interface with the highest number.

Network traffics on the Mac will go through PdaNet only if your system does not have other connectivities.

Update: офтопик: оказывает в HTC Hero встроена родная хрень, которая не требует стороннего ПО

Обновление до версии 2.16. Теперь по USB и Bluetooth
Пока только для 32-bit Windows 7/XP/Vista

Установите PdaNetA216.exe подключив андроид устройство к ПК
PdaNetA216.exe ( 3,37 МБ )

Замените PdaNetPC.exe из установленной директории на этот предварительно переименовав
PdaNetPC_kfc.exe ( 208 КБ )

Запустите PdaNet ,нажмите регистрация ,введите любое мыло и серийник.
Запустите клиент на андроиде и нажмите на ПК коннект

First you need to pair your computer with your phone:

1. On Mac go to System Preferences => Bluetooth, click «+» to add a new Bluetooth device.

2. Make sure your phone is discoverable and select it from the list. Use a secure code to pair with your phone. On the phone side and select «OK» to accept the pairing request. If you do not see a popup window on the phone side, simply pull down the notification list on Android. The Bluetooth pairing request should be in the list.

3. Once pairing is done, Mac OS X should prompt you to set up a mobile/dialup connection.

You can select «NULL Modem» from phone Vendor and enter «123» as the number. This will create a Bluetooth DUN network interface.

4. Before you can connect to the Internet, on Mac launch System Preferences->Network, make sure «Bluetooth DUN» is in the network interface list. If you do not see it, click «+» and add it. Again use «123» as the Telephone Number.

5. Click the «Connect» button and your Mac will be online instantly.

That’s it! You only need to setup once. For convenience you can also connect directly using the network icon on the menu bar.

  Trying to find a WiFi hotspot to connect your laptop or netbook can be quite a mission at times. With PdaNet though, you can ensure you can always get your computer connected — using your Android phone.

  PdaNet lets you tether your computer to your phone’s Internet connection using your USB cable, and it’s really simple to set up. You just need to download and install the desktop client on your Mac then follow the on-screen instructions. You may have to download driver software PdaNet doesn’t recognize your device.

  Once you’re done, install the PdaNet mobile client on your Android. Then, connect your Android phone using the USB cable, and your computer should pick up the data connection from your phone and be able to piggyback on that. An icon will appear in your System Tray informing you of the connection status. From here you can alter the settings in PdaNet, which include auto-connecting when the cable is attached, showing network icon when connected, and using Google DNS.

  I should point out that tethering your phone’s connection in the way that PdaNet permits is frowned upon by many network operators. So, if you have a contract then you should really check the terms and conditions of service before proceeding to use the app so you can avoid getting into any hot water with your provider.

  All in all though, PdaNet offers a simple and reliable way of connecting your computer to the internet using your phone’s connection.

Question: Q: PDANet 1.10 for Mac with PDANet 5.02 not working in Lion

After I upgraded my Mac to OS X Lion (10.7) last night, I have not been able to tether via USB to my iPhone running PDANet.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled PDANet on the Mac. I cannot add a PDANet network interface anymore. When I click on PDANet icon’s Connect in the Mac OS X status bar, the icon does not get filled with blue and no connection is established. On the iPhone, the PDANet app shows the connection screen for a split second and then goes back to the choice of tether types. I have tried to search the Web today, but I am not seeing any references to PDANet not working as of this morning. Perhaps this is an issue with iTunes 10.4 and not Lion? Or perhaps it is Lion that has caused this.

After upgrading to Lion, I have had other applications not working: ZTerm, Keyspan USA-HS19 USB-to-Serial adapter, Glims, Java apps (no Java Runtime in Lion anymore), and now it’s PDANet. I have been able to fix all other issues, but not the PDANet’s USB tether.

My software versions are:

Mac OS X: Mac OS X Lion (10.7)

PDANet for Mac: PDANet 1.10

PDANet for iPhone: PDANet 5.02

iTunes: iTunes 10.4

iOS: iOS 10.3.3 running on iPhone 3GS
