Rpcsvchost mac os что это

rpcsvchost using 99% CPU !!

the bug

macrumors regular

On my mid 2010 Mac Mini running 10.9.5 I noticed that every time I cold boot it the process «rpcsvchost» is using 99% of the CPU in activity monitor.

Most times rebooting takes care of it, until it sits powered off overnight, then on the first boot up it is back to eating 99% again.

I have reset SMC and PRAM, turned off all unnecessary items but it still continues.

I’ve searched online and found a few others that have had the same problem, but haven’t found any answers.

Any advice would be appreciated, since I think my next step may be re-loading Mavericks.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Wow, almost 100 views and nobody else has seen this.
Here’s a little more info :
I reinstalled Mavericks last night and it seemed better after a couple of reboots, then today rpcsvchost was back up to using 99%.
It’s running as root, so I don’t think it’s a startup item from any particular account.

Only a couple of entries in the console about it, I will post those and a spindump log below.

Very strange that it is only after it has been sitting off for a while.

Question: Q: Rpcsvchost

When my fan runs on high the activity monitor shows Rpcsvchost is using 100 percent CPU. When I end this task/activty the fan goes back to quiet mode but I’m not sure if I should keep ending it? I sort of understand RPC as an interface for using a web site (client/server) but shouldn’t it close after using a site, and why would it need 100% of the CPU? Is there a fix? This happens once or twice a week. thanks

Have you installed Trusteer Rapport for online banking? I’ve had lots of problems of overheating and high fan speeds in the past which turned out to be due to this.

I’ve just had the same problem as you and followed Linc Davis’s suggestion and it was Rapport that was causing my problem despite the fact that it was set to be inactive in preferences.

I complained to my bank about the problem in the past because their system prompts me to download it every time I log on. The bank IT chap told me they are aware that some Macs have problems with it and to tick the option that I am on a network which does not allow me to download it. This has the effect of stopping me being prompted for a month.

no I have not but I do suspect it is one website I have used in past. It has not happened since I wrote for help. Eventually I will use whatever website causes it again I’m sure. Thanks. I will pay particular attention to banking sites.

I have this same problem, CPU is 95% to 100% used for rpcsvhost, the reoccurring line during my +87 degrees C is:

com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[1023]: (com.lexmark.bmlaunchd) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds

Does anyone know what I can do to remedy this reoccurring problem?

Not sure if I should have started a new thread or not, but I’m having the same problem. I have an early 2011 MBP 2.3 i7 with 8 gbs of ram. I recently did a clean install of Yosemite and installed Logic Pro and Mainstage 3. (Nothing else on this machine. It is for music only)

After completing the install, I noticed that simply opening Mainstage put a 40-50% hit on CPU. And playing for any amount of time with just a single internal instrument would result in spikes well over 100% and eventually it would stay that high. The result is an extremely hot and noisy machine. I ended up doing another install of Yosemite, and now when I boot, rpcsvchost spikes at 100% before I launch any program.

After reading this thread, I re-booted and found this in the logs:

I have the same issue as described above.

What are we looking for? What would be the important parts to analyse?

My MacBook Pro early 2011, 2,7 GHz i7, 16GB RAM uses 100%+ of CPU on rpcsvchost right from startup, no other programmes running.

Apr 22, 2015 1:36 AM

I have the same issue on an older (2007) iMac: rpcsvhost uses almost all resources right from boot up, with no other programs running. The old machine is much slower since Mavericks upgrade, and frequently is completely unresponsive for long periods.

Hi, I had the same problem today after a long sleep and installing of Yosemite I got this behaviour. What I did feels kind of random but that was it for me. I emptied my trashcan (which hade over 1000 of items in it), and while it was deleting the CPU usage kept declining until it was ready, and now. aah silence, no rpcsvchost running at 95-100%, everything is just idling. Could be worth trying for some that visit this thread atleast.

In my macbook pro the problem was faulty hdd ribbon cable causing 100% cpu usage of rpcsvchost process.

Just unplug the connector from logic board and boot your mac os X from external drive and check cpu % in activity monitor

I have just upgraded my mid 2009 macbook pro with 8gb of RAM and swapped the Harddrive for a crucial 250gb SSD. I make a bootable OS X yosemite to reinstall on the computer. After starting the computer the fan was running really loud and found that I have the same problem with rpcsvhost using 99%. I have opened console and this is part of the logs I am getting
