Если на оборудовании есть дисплей, на него может подаваться информация с утилиты о состоянии расходников, ошибках и т.д. Если дисплея нет, сведения могут появляться в уведомлениях на компьютере. MacOS 10.15 Catalina Samsung C460 Easy Printer Manager and Scan Assist problem

After upgrading my mac to 10.15 Catalina Samsung C460 printer didn’t work anymore. On the driver site there is NO driver support yet for MacOS 10.15. After removing the printer and adding it again in MacOS i got the printer working again.

But not the scanning functionality (Scan Assist ) apparently it is 32bit what is not supported in MacOS 10.15.

When will there be updated drivers 64bit versions? the printer is too new to drop support like this. It was already mentioned a long time that 32bit support in Mac would be dropped. Anyone a solution for the meanwhile?

I have the same issue, the scanner app is 32 bits and not working with Catalina.

The native scanning option is also not working.

It’s a shame HP providing and answer or a timely update to its products

And that terrible HP Support site does not provide a way to send a ticket. If you click Contact a HP Agent for Support it jumps back to general support stuff.

It’s ridiculous if HP support is this bad i can’t belief it.

Have you been able to open a ticket and are there any updates on this?

Unfortunately not. I can still not select any higher OS than 10.14 and apparently here no HP SUPPORT is reading this community or at least not responding to it. Only other costumers with problems.

I have the same problem. The Scanner is not usable anymore without alternative Software. I tried VueScan from Hamrick Software. The tests was successful bat if you can not scan without watermark if you not have payd for it. There are two version’s one with and one without update’s. i didn’t buy it now, i hope hp will deliver a solution soon. if not i need to buy the alternative software.

It is not my first product from Samsung who has very fast no updates anymore.

I have a new workaround with the old driver 2.0. it work on Catalina 10.15

Use the Preview App from Catalina. Go to import from Samsung c460.

You must use JPEG as the image type. Using any other image type will result in the scan failing and not saving.

Once scanned as a JPEG, open Print, go to pdf and safe as pdf.

It is a little complicate bat works perfect.

Утилита Easy Printer Manager предназначена для контроля процесса печати и сканирования на устройствах Samsung. С ее помощью можно сразу узнавать о возникающих ошибках, создавать очереди печати, указывать, на какой компьютер в сети сохранять отсканированное изображение и многое другое. Данная программа особенно удобна, когда надо управлять работой большой сети. Менеджер видит данные о моделях устройств, типе их подключения, состоянии чернил, работоспособности. Если принтер или сканер имеет дисплей, утилита может отправлять информацию туда. Если дисплея нет, можно настроить уведомления. Они будут приходить при возникновении любых проблем: отсутствии соединения, при низком уровне чернил, отсутствии бумаги и т.д. Программа удобная в использовании. Если решили установить ее, сначала потребуется скачать Easy Printer Manager. После этого установка проходит в пару кликов.

Запускаем скаченную утилиту. В окне приветствия жмите «Далее».

At this time macOS Catalina printing to the Samsung M2070w will be supported through AirPrint.

Keeping checking the driver download page for forth coming 64-bit drivers.

Hi, I just updated to macOS Catalina and I have a Samsung C48x Printer that has suddenly stopped working also. I posted a new inquiry separately

I’m in a similar situation and have also posted separately.

The solution which had been proposed to my separate inquiry did not fully restore my printer/scanner capability, even though the HP associated S/W is listed as being 64-bit Intel.

I was asked to periodically check the HP Web Site for Mac OS X 10.15 updated HP S/W.

I have the same problem with the same series of Samsung printers. I checked the available drivers into HP site, but available are up to MacOS 10.14 only. I therefore think that we must wait for the driver update for MacOS 10.15, hoping not to wait for a long time.

I’d like to share with the community the following errors related to the captioned printers after installation of macOS Catalina:

when trying to print:

— «prefilter» cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software

— «rastertosec» cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software

— «commandtosec» cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software

when trying to scan:

— scanner device is not responding

Please find a guide to be able to install your Samsung printer in the new MAC OS 10.15 update. I hope this helps.

Hi Jarz19, I followed the instructions of the PDF attached to your message and I was able to install the printer samsung xpress C480.

As far as the scanner is concerned the installation of both installation packages, ICDM & ScanThru, failed with the following generic error message: «the installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance».

Please note that I tried to install the scan drivers for different MacOS version, i.e. 10.14, 10.13, etc, all them with no success.

A a result in system preferences — printers & scanners, doesn’t appear the box for the scan option.

In conclusion I can now print but I cannot scan.

Even not 100% solved I’ve really appreciated your useful help.
