I understand your concerns with Windows 10. I will be clad to assist you with your query.
I would advise you to upgrade to windows 10 and you can check the compatibility from the compatibility center. Drivers can be run in Compatibility mode until viao provides updated drivers.
To install the drivers in compatibility mode, refer to the following steps.
a. Right click on the setup file and select Properties.
b. Click the compatibility tab, tick the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows.
Windows Compatibility Center.

I am more worried about the basic drivers such as LAN, Audio-visual and other connectivity drivers of my VAIO laptop.
Are they already there in Windows 10?
Why SONY has «strongly recommended waiting» for the drivers?
If these issues are addressed then I would love to upgrade immediately.
expecting a timely response

I upgraded my system to windows 10 and everything works fine except bluetooth. Realtek bluetooth 4.0 module was installed automatically by system as bluetooth driver and it has stopped working giving error code 43. I tried your solution but it didn’t help. Please help with this issue.
My system specifications are
Model name : Sony Vaio SVE15127CN
Bluetooth : Bluetooth standard version 4.0 + HS

Has anyone using sony vaio computers upgraded to windows 10? Sony website tells its customers to wait till November to upgrade their drivers for windows 10. If anyone using sony vaio system upgraded to win 10 without any failure, please reply.
I tried to use the Sony system, and could not even find my pc series number to enable me to proceed and begin looking for a Sony approved download date for Windows 10. It stinks as I never chose to join their useless membership programme (designed to sell lots of unnecessary add ons).
So if a Sony approved upgrade of Windows 10 needs every owner to have signed upo to their superfluous membership scheme I and others are screwed. Maybe a MS bod can advise?

Hi I have also upgraded and found the same issue with the blue tooth.
Any help appreciated.
I wanted to also get rid of Sony bloatware and make a clean install.
I bought a ITB SSB and put this in the machine before making a USB media windows 10 upgrade key.
The Sony Vaio has no license key sticker the Windows 8.0 license key is buried in the bios.
After I made the install of windows 10 it did not automatically find the key and was insisting I typed a product key from a license key sticker. I tried a few programs to retrieve this key (magic jelly bean etc) but nothing worked.
I put my original HDD back in the machine and upgraded this using the «Upgrade this PC now» from windows 10 site (this method carries over all the junk from previous installs)..
This upgrade worked OK.
I still wanted the clean install so I pulled out the old drive and put back in the 1TB hard drive with the clean install of win 10.
This automatically authenticated so I have a nice clean install on a fast 1tb ssd.
All works very well (except for the blue tooth!)

I have a SONY VAIO SVE14A27CXH. The SONY site states that you will get a BSOD if you upgrade any SVE14A devices to Windows 10 before the new video drivers are available (they say in November). These laptops have dual AMD and Intel video adapters that have caused all kinds of problems with various upgrades (specifically from 7 to 8 and 8 to 8.1).
I, for one will be waiting for November before updating.

I upgraded my Sony Vaio from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I’ve had a number of the same problems folks on this thread are mentioning, including the screen dimming to very dark. I also have noticed the cooling fan runs far too much and drains my battery.
To resolve the screen dimming, I went into the settings and adjusted the brightness for running on both battery power and A/C power, setting both to full brightness. However, Sony’s automatic brightness adjustment was causing issues so I went to the Vaio Control Center icon > Display > Automatic Brightness Settings, and unchecked the box. That has resolved my screen dimming issues.
The fan is better but still not as it used to be prior to the upgrade. I found a running task named ‘IAStorDataMgrSvc.exe’ which was peaking the CPU and causing the fan to run. I just kill that task every time I start up my computer. It’s not a critical task so it should not hurt anything.

I have the same model Sony laptop. I never had a single problem when I upgrading to Win 8.1. All was well! But when I upgraded to Win 10 (on August 1st) everything was wonderful until two weeks later. My Sony started freezing. I could not shut it down with the power button, I had to unplug AND remove the battery! This happened a few times & I decided to take my Sony to Geek Squad. All they did was set it back to Win 8 & then reinstalled Win 10. They said it did not freeze with them. When I got home, several icons in Win 10 did not work AND it FROZE again, much to my dismay! Was very disappointed as I thought Geek Squad would monitor a PC better before telling me it was fixed! I reverted back to Win 8.1 (myself) two days ago and all is well, again! So, I too, will now wait for November before trying the update again!
