Stop app restart для windows phone

Stop Restart App

I received the critical update to stop the random reboots. However, I still get the reboots after installing the update.

I installed the stop restart app by Microsoft to try to diagnose the problem.

However, the app says my phone is fine and does not need fixing but I still get the random reboots.

OS Version: 8.10.15116.125

1) Never received a critical notification on my new Lumia 640 phone for the same reboot/restarting problem AS WELL AS 3 PHONE FREEZES REQUIRING THE BATTERY TO BE REMOVED AND RESTARTED—THESE OCCURRED WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS IN LABOR & GRANDPARENTS-TO-BE WERE WAITING FOR MUCH-AWAITED UPDATES. Need I say more on how ANNOYING this was.

2) Called phone carrier T-Mobile (where phone was purchased) to help w/ a fix, but pretty useless as the phone was too new and not a very popular one at that for technical expertise or a history of like complaints.

3) On MS/WP website content instructions, I couldn’t even download the Stop Restart app on my phone, AS IT WAS NOT LISTED IN STORE via individual search (what a pain) or write-in Downloads Search, as stated here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/stop-restart-app/9nblggh30xlk.
4) Ran PC fix using USB cable to phone, as instructed here: https://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/how-to/wp8/phones-and-hardware/stop-my-phone-from-restarting. PROBLEM STILL EVIDENT.

5) Re-Ran PC fix using USB cable a 2nd time and received a notification at end ADVISING PHONE IS ALREADY FIXED. IT WASN’T & PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS.

6) Ran updates daily for the past 2 weeks, receiving notification the phone is up-to-date. Rebooting/restarting less, freezing has not reoccurred.

7) As of 07/31/14, checked to see if I could acquire the Stop Restart app from Store on my Lumia 640—STILL NOT LISTED WITHIN STORE APP ON MY PHONE.

I find Microsoft Support useless if fixes posted on website do not work. Only alternative is wait and hope for update fixes or good-money-down-the-drain in buying a different phone. I don’t consider this «Stellar» Customer Support. Admittedly, I chose the Lumia 640 due to its affordable price and relatively ease of use, verses an iPhone 6 times more in price or an Android phone that eventually slows due to so much overload, similar to how aol would overtake a PC in years gone by.

Fix: My Lumia Phone Constantly Restarts

Microsoft is preparing Windows 10 Mobile for some of its Lumia phones, but problems related to Windows 8.1 are still present. This time we have one really annoying issue, the problem with constant restarting of Lumia phone running Windows 8.1.

How to Solve Constant Restarting Problem on Lumia Phones

Solution 1 – Download Stop Restarting App

Microsoft is aware of the fact that some Lumia phones have problems with unexpected restarting, so it released a special app, which reportedly solves the problem. You can download this app from Microsoft’s official download page, to see if it does the work. We cannot guarantee you one hundred percent that this app will solve the problem, because reviews are going from one extreme to another, as some users are reporting that the app is useless, while other say it perfectly fixes the issue.

Solution 2 – Perform Hard Reset

The next thing we’re going to try is performing a hard reset to return phone to its default settings. But remember, before you do a hard reset of your phone, you need to create a backup of your apps, data and media first. To create a backup of your staff, go to Settings>Backup and complete the process. The backup will be saved on your Microsoft account, and your data will be safe from deletion.

Now do the following to reset your phone:

  1. In the App list, tap Setting
  2. Tap About, and then tap Reset your phone
  3. Follow further instructions and restart your phone

When you’re setting up your phone again, after the restart, you’ll be prompted to install a backup of your data, so just login with your Microsoft account, and choose the backup you created earlier to bring your staff back.

Solution 3 – Check if hardware is okay

Maybe your problem is not software-related at all. Maybe the problem lays in hardware. Some users across forums have reported that damaged battery caused their Lumias to restart constantly. Some users also said that they had problems with processor, so the problem could easily be hardware-related. To make sure everything is okay with your phone’s hardware, you should take your phone to a local service, and see if these guys have a solution. If you go to the ‘better’ service, they’ll probably help you even if your issue is in software, as well.

Microsoft’s Stop Restart App may help devices that have yet to receive the critical update

Microsoft is sending out emails to Windows Phone owners with information about the critical update that the company pushed out last month, urging them to install the update. Some may not have received the update, whether due to lack of cellular connectivity, no wireless signal, or a number of other reasons, and for that Microsoft has an app that is said to help.

Microsoft’s Stop Restart App is another way for the company to help users who are experiencing random reboots on their devices. Here is the app description:

«Microsoft identified a problem in some versions of Windows Phone 8.1 that could cause a phone to restart periodically. We’ve already made a fix that has resolved this problem for the majority of Windows Phones. However, some phones that have not connected to Microsoft servers still need the fix to be applied.

This app will verify if your phone has been fixed. If it hasn’t been fixed, the app will attempt to fix it immediately if you’re connected to Wi-Fi.»

If you have yet to receive the critical update, or are still having issues, be sure to give the app a shot and let us know how it works out for you.
