You have to hire developers that know how to code for mac, luckily, Team 17 should know a few. 😛
But at least let them get the Early Access features in before they do anything.
It Depends what language the game was written in If it uses DirectX it will be a pain to port unless they go to OpenGL
If its written in C/C++ There will always be some OS Unique code in it Example:
Steam games on Mac will have a bit of Objective C in the Application File itself

It’s not in Unity. The developers are changing the engine of the game anyway.

Where did you hear this? Changing the engine is not a simple task at all, and the game will have to literally be disassembled and reassembled. I don’t see why Chris would want to change the engine unless he was looking at adding multiplayer and his current engine didn’t support it properly.
Mike from Team 17 has said that they would have to change the engine for mods to be created for it. And mods is something EVERYONE wants (even the devs).

I understand that, but it seems like a hell of a job, and a massive load of work on Chris’ side. Changing the games engine is not easy by any means.
i dont get why they dont just code for mac in the first place, no offence, it might be harder, but if a game opens for all platforms, they would get TONS more money
i just bought the escapists for my mac because it doesnt say its not mac compatible and there was 15 dollars GONE MAKE IT MAC COMPATIBLE OR I WILL KILL YOU!

They said that they have no release date yet, but i just messaged them asking to give us a rough estimation on when they think it will be done..
So, for those who already bought it, you don’t have to worry. Because you have bought it, it will be able for you to play as soon as the mac version is out, without having to buy it again.
