[FIX] “Try Again Later. Something Happened On Our End” For Store App In Windows 10

Published: July 14, 2015 \\ Applies to: Troubleshooting, Windows 10 \\ Share: · ·

The Store app introduced in Windows 8 served millions of users till now to download their favorite apps. With Windows 10, the Store app is all set to offer Universal Apps to Windows users across the world. All you need to get the apps from Store is one valid Microsoft account and you’re good to go.

Well, sometimes you may face issues with Store app and it may not load due to miscellaneous reasons. If the Store app fails to load on your Windows 10, firstly we recommend you to go through this suggestion list and see if something helps from it:

Recently, we come across an strange error with a Windows 10 running machine. Whenever we open Store app on that system, the following message appears:

Try again later. Something happened on our end.

Or you may also receive this:

Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help.

We tried to all the previous suggestions available, installed latest updates to this build and even tried to update the build itself, but there were no changes in the situation. At last, we tried to change some additional settings on which working of Store app depends. Finally, it worked and we’re able to load Store correctly.

So in case if you’re too victim of this issue, here is how to fix it:

FIX : “Try Again Later. Something Happened On Our End” For Store App In Windows 10

1. Open Control Panel and select Clock, Language and Region option. Then click Change date, time, or number formats link.

2. Next, in the Region window, on the Format tab, you’ll find that Format is set to your native language, since you’re facing this issue. So change the Format to either Match Windows display language (recommended) or English (United States).

3. Moving on, in the same window, switch to Location tab and set the Home location to United States.

4. Now switch to Administrative tab in the same window and click Change system locale button under Language for non-unicode programs section.

5. Finally, change the Current system locale to English (United States). Click OK, Apply, OK to close Region window.

Restart your system to make these changes effective. After rebooting your system, you’ll find that Store app is now loading and working correctly as expected.

In case, if the issue still persists even after trying above mentioned steps, you can additionally try to re-register the Store app:

This method did not fix the problem for me, even after restart.

Kapil Arya

^^ Try re-registering Store app or create a new user account and check if issues persists on that.

Ezzy

I tried to change the settings, but they were all already set to what you suggested changing them to. My husband and I have separate accounts on the same PC which is running Windows 10. He is able to download apps from the Windows Store with no problems at all; when I try to download anything from the Windows Store I get the error message “Something Happened on Our End. Please Try Again Later”. Why would it only let let one account on the PC download apps but not the other?? Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.

Kapil Arya

^^ Okay, suggest you to create another user account for yourself and see if Store works on that.

parag

This is wat worked for me when nothing worked from MS support. Thnks

Kapil Arya

Richard

My solution was to shut down my VPN running from another country.

thanks. it worked for me. but what is the problem with the local settings that we need to switch to US settings?

Kapil Arya

^^ We believe standard tests are performed on these settings and hence they’re supposed to work in such conditions 🙂

I have upgraded several systems from Windows 10 Home to 10 Pro. After researching the message I discovered that there is a “device limit”. Microsoft limits the number of computers you can upgrade to ten. Not good if you are an IT consultant upgrading 30 systems.

Jolinar

I found this issue when trying to connect via Broadband and make the new connection checking the Box for Allow other people to use this connection ! It seems that the Log In from Store is different from normal Log In, where The User appears up on the browser, and that issue removes the ability to start downloading from the Store. Unchecking the Box creates a different User in the Store and let the applications being downloaded ! I haven’t a router or modem inside the house, just Operator Cable !

Jolinar

Also, trying disconnect from the Store and reconnect with checking the Box for Please reenter your password for Store “Click here if you don’t want us to ask for you’re password when you make Store purchases on this device” let the User enter the Store and let the Apps being downloaded !

Kapil Arya

^^ Have you switched to Microsoft account? It seems like you’re on local account and if you switch to Microsoft account, this problem may not happen.

Jolinar

Now, it seems the buttons from Dial-Up/ Advanced Options/ Make this PC discoverable and Automatic configuration settings should stay Off or Unchecked to mentain the Store functionable.

Mohammad Ali Rahimi

Oh! my God!! it works at last, I’ve examined in many many ways, but just this was solution to my problem. thanks a lot.

Ivan

Hi Kapil! I have this problem for a week now. It happens on all Windows 10 1607 devices including Lumia 950XL. I can install all previously downloaded apps (My apps). But If I try installing an app that I had never before, I get this error.

But interesting thing is that I can easily install “new” apps on my old HTC 8X with WP 8.1! Same Microsoft account and everything. Once I install it there, it becomes “my app” and I can install it on every Win 10 device!

I’ll try your suggestion, despite I live in Croatia.

Kapil Arya

^^ Please try steps mentioned here and Windows Apps troubleshooter and let me know if they helps!

Ivan

Unfortunately not. I even ran Troubleshooters for BITS, Store and Updates. BITS was fine, but Store and Updates had erros that were fixed.
I also posted this problem on answers.microsoft.com and seems that it comes down to MS. A guy had reinstalled Windows completely, and as soon as he signed in and tried Store got this error. He didn’t touch his account online. So it must be MS updates since Anniversary update.

Kapil Arya

^^ Go ahead with re-registering Store app: https://www.kapilarya.com/how-to-re-register-store-app-in-windows-10. Also give a try to create new user account. If nothing helps, the culprit may be Anniversary Update, you can use Feedback app to report the issue to Microsoft. Hope the Windows team resolves it in future updates 😊

Prashant Chaudhary

What about windows 10 phone? I am facing this issue in Lumia 550.

Kapil Arya

^^ Try rebooting multiple times, and if possible try switching to different network connections, see if it helps.

Thank you Kapil, that worked.
I do think Microsoft should be given a slapped wrist for letting that bug get out.
Do you know if they intend to incorporate a fix in a future update of Windows 10, so I can stop being an illegal immigrant in cyber Trumpland?
