Making a physical CD from an ISO image file
Download the file to a temporary directory and extract the ISO image to that directory.
To create a CD from this ISO image, you must use a software utility capable of writing an ISO file to a recordable media such as CD-R.
- Note: Simply copying the ISO file to a CD-R will NOT result in a usable CD. HP recommends you run MD5 Checksum on the Zip file and/or ISO image prior to burning the CD. HP also recommends that you turn the verify feature «ON».
CD labeling: For reference purposes, please label your resulting CD as follows:

Copying the ISO Image file to the HP USB Key Utility For Windows
The HP USB Key Utility is a Windows application that will allow the user to copy the Firmware Maintenance CD contents to a USB memory key. Users may then run the Firmware Maintenance applications from a USB key instead of from the CD. To download the HP USB Key Utility for windows, go to: www.hp.com/go/foundation.

HP BladeSystem servers (BL series) utilize the software contained in the HP ProLiant Support Packs (PSPs). PSPs are available on the SmartStart CD.
HP ProLiant Essentials Rapid Deployment Pack (RDP), SmartStart Scripting Toolkit and SmartStart 7.xx deploy HP BladeSystem servers. SmartStart 7.00 and later provides assisted installation support for HP ProLiant BL Servers by utilizing the I/O port with an attached USB CD-ROM device.
SmartStart is not delivered standard with these servers, but can be a useful addition to RDP — the recommended deployment solution for HP BladeSystem servers. The CD can be used to create a server profile that can easily be copied and redistributed via RDP.
SmartStart supports the deployment of the HP ProLiant DL380 G3 Packaged Cluster but does not deploy the full clustering solution. For more information on deploying a full clustering solution, visit the HP ProLiant Clusters page.
