XAMPP For Windows

XAMPP Latest Versions:

There are many other packages for local server development but XAMPP is preferred due to some marvelous features in it. Firstly, the package being faster in speed, makes developers to work at higher speed. Secondly, the simple GUI (Graphics User Interface) makes it attractive and easy to run for beginners. Thirdly, features like Apache server, PHP MySQL etc can be configured easily and started from the control panel. Simply, it is the best package to develop, run, debug and test applications. Therefore you need to do is just download the package suitable for your OS and start enjoying it.

Step by Step Guide for installation

The installation method is discussed in detail with proper steps and snap in the XAMPP Download page. As there are different versions of XAMPP available, which are listed down below for Windows. Also a download button for each flavor. Select the perfect compatible package for your system and download it.

There is no complication in installing it, navigation from one step to another will help you throughout the process. But during installation according to your OS some issues may occur.

  • In Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, if UAC (User account control) is enabled, it may suggest not to install in Program folders. So you may have to disable UAC or install it in a new folder.

To choose a right version/edition of the package for your OS and setting is listed below. This list will help you to choose the right version for your OS.

  • XAMPP version 1.7.2, is compatible with latest version of Windows NT.
  • XAMPP version 1.7.2, is compatible with Earliest version of Windows Vista.
  • Versions higher than 1.7.2, are compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7 and Windows 8 .
